What makes a FinnWick Candle different?
Our wax.
We use 100% soy wax from soy beans grown by U.S. farmers. Many candles on the market contain paraffin wax which is derived from petroleum, and can produce benzene and toluene into the air (these are both known carcinogens)! Our Soy wax is a clean-burning wax, with zero carcinogens, and you’ll notice your candles will have zero “charring” in their glasses when you burn them due to this.
Our wicks.
Our wicks are made purely from sustainable cotton and thin strips of paper braided together and sealed with a very light coat of soy wax and very minimal amount of beeswax. No zinc or lead in our wicks!!!
Our vessels.
It all begins with an idea. Our original plan for our shop was to use old bottles or jars, however it became very laborsome and dangerous (cutting glass yikes!) so we did our research and learned glass is a very sustainable material and we use all recycled glass jars for our vessels. Our 4 ounce vessels are made out of metal with no aluminum.
Our fragrances.
We use premium candle-grade fragrances that are safe and do not contain any harmful phthalates or toxins when burned. Some of our candles have essential oils in their fragrance blend, but not all do. Essential oils are great to use as in a variety of aromatherapeutic applications, however there are some essential oils which are toxic to your family or pets when burned so we only use SAFE candle-grade fragrances in our candles and melts.
Our wax melts
Our wax melts use a slightly different wax that is an all-natural 100% soy and botanical oil formula. We blend this with our premium fragrance oils and hand pour all of them. While our candles are all dye-free, our wax melts are colored to bring some vibrance to your home! Our dye is vegan, and made in the USA and specifically formulated for candles and melts. We always ensure our melts are concentrated in fragrance oil so that you never have to worry about receiving a “dull” or “quiet” scent with them. Our goal for these is to go 100% plastic-free!
